Where city meets beach to create the perfect setting for your next event

The Algarve is a region in Portugal that’s home to some of the best beaches in the country. But it’s also got tons of history, including a number of historical towns that are great for sightseeing and relaxation. Take your pick!

There are several historical sites worth visiting in Algarve, including Lagoa and Portimão. Both have castles that offer gorgeous views of the water and nearby islands. There are also plenty of museums and art galleries around town for you to check out as well!

If you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy some quiet time with your team and nature, head over to Praia de Farol near Vilamoura or Praia dos Pescadores near Lagos. Or if you’d rather enjoy some culture without having to leave town, head over to Vale do Lobo or Praia Nova near Faro.

Team activities to do in Algarve

The Algarve is a great place to go with your team. There is so much to do that you could spend weeks exploring this area and never run out of things to do. Here are some fun team activities that you can enjoy when visiting the Algarve:

  • Visit the sea caves of Benagil
Take a unique journey and explore the lovely caves. Benagil is a small town in the north of the Algarve, which has become popular with tourists for its beautiful sea caves. The town has several restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a meal or drink while taking in views of the ocean.

The caves are accessible by boat from several points along the coast, including Portimao and Vilamoura (for those who want to make a day trip). Alternatively, kayakers can paddle through them for a more intimate experience with nature.

  • Explore the rock formations at Praia da Marinha
The stunning rock formations are the perfect photo-op. The rock formations at Praia da Marinha are the perfect place to explore and take photos. The nearby beach is also a popular hiking destination, so if you’re looking for some adventurous team building this could be a good option for you.
  • Try some stand up paddle fun
Stand up paddle is a fun way to get around on the water. It’s also a great way to experience Portugal’s Algarve region, which has some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. We can arrange stand up paddle tours, taxis and fun excursions.
  • Walk the 1,000 steps of Salgados lagoon – Follow a trail along the lagoon and take in the amazing view.
The Salgados lagoon is located in the village of Salgados and can be reached by following a trail along its edge. The gentle walk is only 0.6 miles long, but it offers plenty of photo opportunities and a chance to enjoy the stunning views from above.

The lagoon itself was formed over 2 million years ago when sea levels rose after an ice age ended, leaving behind large deposits of sandstone and limestone that eventually eroded into flat surfaces known as “tajas.” These tajas were then covered by water during wet periods in history; when there was less rainfall or drought hit Portugal’s Algarve region (where this lagoon lies), these rocky outcrops would reappear above sea level again–hence their name “salgados” (“salted”).

The list of activities are endless in the Algarve, here are just a few more exciting options for your next incentive or team building trip:

  • Go cliff jumping at Carvoeiro — Take a leap of faith (or maybe just a small jump) off of these cliffs.
  • Climb to the top of the lighthouse on Terreiro do Paço, near Praia da Luz, and enjoy spectacular views from atop this ancient structure.
  • Visit one of many wineries in Algarve and taste some fine wines!
  • Rent an electric golf cart with GPS so that you can explore different parts of town without having to worry about traffic or parking restrictions – it’s great fun!
  • Enjoy a meal at Evaristo — a mouthwatering meal in the prettiest setting. Visit the Museu do Fado — Discover the soulful history of Portuguese folk music.
  • Hit the surf with group lessons (or watch and relax) in nearby in Porto da Barra
  • Learn how to cook traditional Portuguese cuisine.
