Corporate Social Responsibility
Giving Back …. Our Community
It has been the ethos of Event Works Europe Ltd to always give something back to the local community, giving our time and expertise to assist with local fund-raising events whenever possible.
In the past we have supported a local charity, Megan Baker House, helping organise their annual fundraising Ball, also shopping events and social events like Pimms and Ponies.
From the amazing care our MD received at Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven, we have organised a summer shopping event and will continue to fundraise when it is safe to do so.
We are delighted to be in our second year as a Community Partner of Ashby United Community Football Club, based in the town of Ashby de la Zouch, close to where our Director Sharon Brunt is based. It’s great to support such a new and thriving club which supports kids of all ages to thrive and play sport in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Equality and Diversity
We provide a fair and supportive work environment for all employees, regardless of their age, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or association to any political party.
We care for our Environment
When planning in-person events, we advise our clients on ways to minimise the carbon footprint of the event as far as possible through things such as:
- Catering – being tight on numbers to avoid waste; avoiding the use of plastic and any disposable packing; choosing menu options using ethically-sourced and seasonal produce
- Audio visual – using digital screens and avoiding any ‘one-off-use’ branding and signage and gobos
- Programme – avoiding printed materials in favour of online alternatives such as a web-based event App
- Offering a virtual option for delegates to attend virtually where preferred, allowing more people to attend the event but with potentially less people needing to travel
- Avoiding unnecessary travel for planning meetings, recommending virtual meetings where possible
- When sourcing venues we look at their policy and practices on sustainability and take this into account when making recommendations on venues to our clients.
In addition to this, we aim to operate as sustainably as possible in our day-to-day business.
- Most of the travel our staff do during work hours is within the local area so we all walk to office. Most of the team frequently work from home avoiding travel altogether
- We operate a strict recycling policy in the office
- We meet virtually where possible, for internal as well as external meetings
- When sourcing suppliers for events, we look at the policies and practices on sustainability when making our selection, we don’t just go for the best economical value
